Alexandra Oliver NP
Alex is a Board Certified Nurse Practitioner with experience in both the acute care inpatient setting as well as outpatient clinics.
Alex started her nursing career with a degree from Rutgers University where she then worked in a hospital setting helping patients treat their acute and chronic diseases. Working as a bedside nurse, Alex knew she wanted to help treat patients with a greater in-depth knowledge about their diseases and enrolled in Rowan University to complete her education as a nurse practitioner.
Alex’s goal is to help her patients by using researched based treatments with the integration of traditional and functional medicine to improve a patient’s quality of life, decrease prescription medication use when possible, and take control over their own health.
Near infrared light therapy is used to treat acute and chronic pain. Near infrared light helps cells regenerate and repair themselves. Near infrared light also improves the circulation of oxygen rich blood in the body, promoting faster healing of deep tissues and relieving pain. Near infrared light helps increase collagen production. The increase in the blood flow to the different parts of the body makes it possible for oxygen and nutrients to reach cells. This enables them to function properly and effectively, resulting in the regeneration and repair of injured tissues, reducing pain and inflammation.
There are no known risks or side effects involved in using red light therapy. It is considered a safe alternative to invasive procedures such as liposuction. Red light treatment is 100% non-invasive and does not cause any bruising, as with CoolSculpting, and there is no down time.
